Hydrotherapy

"Improving your function in the water so you can thrive on land"

What is hydrotherapy and how does it help?

Hydrotherapy is a branch of physiotherapy that involves performing movements, exercises and therapeutic techniques in a warm hydrotherapy "hydro" pool. Hydro pools are located all across Melbourne, usually in indoor leisure centres.

The buoyancy and resistance of water provide a low-impact, supportive environment for movement and exercise to help improve range of motion, muscle strength, joint mobility, falls prevention, and reduce pain.

It is commonly used for a range of conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical recovery, neurological conditions, ASD, cerebral palsy and for paediatric developmental conditions. Physiotherapy hydrotherapy sessions are tailored to each individual's needs and are guided by a qualified physiotherapist.
